Types of Writing

I have written for a variety of industries, including higher education, consulting, nonprofits, retail, arts, culture, food and drink, and sports. I currently cover the Boston Red Sox for Over the Monster, a division of SB Nation, the largest independent sports media brand. This includes crafting web content, copy writing for marketing and sales, writing articles, and creating customized style guides.

My blog encompasses a number of different types of writing, such as reviews, and articles about art and my own artwork.

Examples of My Writing

Here are some of my favorite articles from the genres of art and culture, sports, and food and drink. These include reviews, game recaps, and long-form feature stories.

Does Seattle Truly Hate the Red Sox?

The short answer is a resounding yes. Let’s find out why. The Red Sox and Mariners playing a series this week hit particularly close to home for me as a New England native and Sox fan…

Red Sox Lose Lead but Win in 10

The ride was nausea-inducing but ultimately satisfying. This game was a rollercoaster ride — but the satisfying kind, where you stagger off on a cloud of endorphins, with a smile on…

Food and Drink

Lobstah Roll

I’m on my deck, in the cold mid-afternoon, perched on a tiny outdoor table because I sold my deck chair. I look at the view and think to myself that this is probably one of the last times that I’ll sit out here.

Seattle Snow

Yay! We got snow in the Pacific Northwest, lots of snow! (I mean, for us, we have lots of snow.) It’s been coming down, in one form or another, since Thursday. Whatever amount of snow we get here (even an inch! …

Two cocktails are garnished with strawberries and sit on a windowsill.

This was a very exciting cocktail for me because I used a homemade liqueur which I first tasted in Italy. Some years back, I spent the summers teaching drawing and painting in Italy. I spent my first summer in a village…
